Wanda E. (Ramsey) Abdala

Wanda E. (Ramsey) Abdala, 92, formerly of Hustontown, PA and Coatesville, PA, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Arbor Terrace, Exton, PA.

Born on March 13, 1932 in Maddensville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith (Wilson) Ramsey.  She was united in marriage to Victor Abdala, Sr. in 1956.  Mr. Abdala preceded in death on April 2, 1990.  Daughter Anna Abdala and siblings Dale Ramsey, Vaughn Ramsey and Jack Ramsey also preceded her in death.

She is survived by sons Victor Abdala, Jr. and wife Teri, Downingtown, PA, Paul Abdala, West Chester, PA and Michael Abdala, Parkesburg, PA.  She was loved by her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed by her devoted friend and neighbor Peggy Tabakelis.

Mrs. Abdala spent her childhood on the family farm on Clear Ridge Road in Fulton County, PA.  Many childhood memories were made on the farm, the stories of which she loved to share.  After graduating high school, she took a job in Coatesville, PA as a secretary for Lukens Steel Company.  It was in Coatesville where she met her husband, Victor.  After spending many years in Coatesville, she later moved to Arbor Terrace in Exton, PA.

During her lifetime, she was a homemaker who was known to be very generous, always helping others.  She made hundreds of beautiful Afghan blankets.  Being the generous person she was, Wanda shared her masterpieces with many friends and organizations.  If you knew Wanda, there is a good chance you have one of her Afghan blankets.  This will be a big part of her legacy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Dan Mansberger officiating.  Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
