Teressa K. Thanos

Teressa K. Thanos, 82, of Battle Ridge Road, McConnellsburg, PA, died Monday, September 6, 2021 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

Born July 18, 1939 at McConnellsburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Foster and Jesse (Bupp) Foster Hall. She was united in marriage to Teddy Thanos on November 24, 1968. Mr. Thanos preceded in death on May 9, 1988.

She is survived by four children, Mitchell Sipes and companion Betty O’Hara, Laura Michele Foster and Mark Sipes, all of McConnellsburg, PA and Mary Huston and husband Jeff of Harrisonville, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Sipes, one granddaughter, Jessica Heier, two sisters, Laura Foster and Lawanda Spece and one brother, Nathan Bupp.

Mrs. Thanos was a member of the McConnellsburg Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

During her life she was mainly employed as a waitress at the former Pleasant Valley Restaurant and the Fort Family Restaurant, both at Fort Littleton, PA. She also helped her husband on the family farm.

She loved her cats, going shopping, cooking, gardening, helping others and giving to various charities.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 10, 2021 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Pastor Erik Sollenberger officiating. Interment will be made at Knobsville Cemetery, Knobsville, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
