Paul L. Wagner, 100, of Hustontown, PA, died Sunday, May 11, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Wagner was the son of the late Burton L. and Katharine Mae (Lamberson) Wagner. He was born in Hustowntown, PA on August 3, 1924 where he resided his entire life except the time he was in the Army during World War II and was in Italy attached to the 313 Engineer Combat Battalion in the 88th Division. After returning home, he married Beatrice E. Thomas and they worked on the family farm for 2 or 3 years and then he went back to work for DeShong Oil and Gas for 11 years as a delivery man. Next, he moved on to hauling freight and then retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company in 1986, after working for them 17 years hauling tires and raw materials from factory to warehouses in all different states.
He loved the outdoors and liked to hunt and fish, enjoyed yard work and keeping his place nice and neat.
He was a member of the NRA, American Legion Post 561, McConnellsburg, PA, Mount Zion Lodge #774 F&AM, McConnellsburg, PA and the Harrisburg Consistory.
Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his father and mother, sister Cora Hemminger, grandson Richard Barton and his wife who passed away on June 19, 2013.
He is survived by two children, Shannon Junior Barton and wife Karole and Mary Louise Keith and husband Himmel, grandchildren Tammy Keith, Cindy Gelvin, Shelby Barton, Sheila Barton and Brian Barton, great grandchildren Ryan Gelvin and wife Andrea, Tiffanie Horton and husband Nathan, Kelsey Beavers, Chelsey Barton, Clarissa Barton and Shianne Pittman and great great grandchildren Brennan Horton and Jace Horton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2025 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Fred Marz officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
