Merriam E. (Clippinger) De Ciuceis

Merriam Esther (Clippinger) De Ciuceis, 83, formerly of Wells Tannery, PA, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born September 17, 1938 at Wells Tannery, PA, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Donald and Esther Lea (Wright) Clippinger. She was united in marriage to Angelo M. De Ciuceis for 61 years. Mr. DeCiuceis preceded in death on May 27, 2013.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane Velez and husband Ricky of Florida and two grandsons, Timothy Velez and Luke Velez

She is also survived by eight siblings, Lambert L. Clippinger, a resident of the Long Term Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA, Matilda Martz of McConnellsburg, PA, Cassie Book of Doylesburg, PA, Jerry Clippinger of Wells Tannery, PA, Ella Mae Peck of Breezewood, PA, Nancy Bryan of Wells Tannery, PA, Hattie Seville of McConnellsburg, PA and Abraham Clippinger of Wells Hopewell, PA. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Lou DeCiuceis, two brothers, Eugene Clippinger and William Clippinger and two sisters, Bertha Gordon and Sue Hofstetter.

Mrs. DeCiuceis had formerly attended the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Wells Tannery, PA and later attended the Sherman’s Valley Brethren in Christ Church, Hopewell, PA.

During her life she was employed as a crossing guard in New Jersey for 25 years and as the manager of Bradlee’s, New Jersey for 25 years.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2022 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment will be made at the Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery, Wells Tannery, PA. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
