Mary Alice (Martz) Largent, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on October 26, 2022, at the age of 89, in Pasadena, Texas. She was born February 28, 1933, in the Township of Dublin, Pennsylvania, to parents W. Russell and Mabel (Sharpe) Martz.
Having been raised in Pennsylvania, she graduated from Taylor Township High School in 1953, and then received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania in 1957. After being an educator for several years, Mary obtained her real estate brokers license in Texas. She focused on Commercial and Residential transactions until retiring from Coldwell Banker United in 2018.
Mary was a devoted member of the Sunset United Methodist Church and in recent years participated in activities at South Main Baptist Church. During retirement, she also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Throughout her life, she was involved in numerous organizations including United Way, Pathway of Hope Widow Group, Grief Share, and the Sit and Be Fit Exercise Group.
Mary is survived by two sons, Scott Largent and his wife, Renata and Christopher Largent and his wife, Joy; two granddaughters, Alyssa (Largent) Morgan and her husband, Alex, and Amanda (Largent) Kimpel and her husband, Christian; her two sisters, Darlene (Martz) King and Judy (Martz) Peters; two brothers, Ronald Martz, and Arnold Martz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Richard Largent; her parents, W. Russell and Mabel (Sharpe) Martz; her three sisters, Madeline (Martz) McKenzie, Shirley (Martz) Morelli, and Marge (Martz) McDivitt, and one brother John Martz.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 11, 2022, at Union Cemetery on Great Cove Road in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania with Rev. David Ford officiating.
