Margaret L. Newman

Margaret L. Newman, 78, of Hustontown, PA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born February 2, 1943 in Dublin Twp., Fulton Co., PA, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Lola (Cornelius) Waters. She was united in marriage to Lester Newman on September 15, 1959. Mr. Newman survives at their home.

She is also survived by three children, Tammy Gelvin and husband Mike of Hustontown, PA, Tim Newman and wife Robin of New Grenada, PA and Michele Cornell and husband Gary of Mercersburg, PA, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Waters and two sisters, Dorothy Ray and Sally Stratton. 

Mrs. Newman attended the Dublin Mills Community Church, Hustontown, PA.

She retired in 1999 after serving as the postmaster of the Hustontown Post Office for 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, PA with Rev. Kenneth Cornelius and Pastor Ben Holler officiating. Interment will be made at the Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery, Wells Tannery, PA. Friends may call at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dublin Mills Community Church, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, PA 17229.
