Lois M. (Chilcoate) Mellott

Lois Marie Chilcoate Mellott, 84, Clear Ridge, PA passed Saturday November 14, 2020 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born February 18, 1936 at Clear Ridge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Cruthers) Chilcoate.

She was married to Noel L. Mellott on May 28, 1958 at Hagerstown, MD.  Mr. Mellott preceded in death on January 2, 1996.

Mrs. Mellott is survived by one daughter Brenda Cook, Burnt Cabins, PA.

Two granddaughters Rebecca Wright and Stacey Roher survive of Hustontown, PA.

There are three great grandchildren; Madison, McKenna, and Maven Robert.

A sister Ruth Byers survives of Hustontown with whom Mrs. Mellott enjoyed visiting and spending hours talking with on the phone

Several brothers and sisters preceded in death: Bertha Bookheimer, Luther, Fred, Chester and Donald Chilcoate, Martha Golden, Doris Gerber and Clara Shore.

After the closure of Sagner, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA where she worked for many years, Mrs. Mellott worked at many local restaurants and retired from Gateway Restaurant, Breezewood, PA in 2001.

She also worked along with her husband in the family coal business.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Becky Cutchall officiating.  Interment will be at Clear Ridge Cemetery, Hustontown, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Social distancing and COVID-19 precautions are expected.
