Lewis E. Fleck, 96, of Sunny Side Lane, Three Springs, PA, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Fulton County Medical Center - Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA.
Born on May 10, 1928 in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, PA, he was the son of the late Dallas and Leora (Wagner) Fleck. He was united in marriage to Betty J. Flasher in March of 1951. Mrs. Fleck preceded in death on December 15, 2020.
He is survived by his children Estal Fleck and wife Rhonda, Beverly Myers and husband Ty, Sharon Wible, all of Three Springs, PA and children reared in his home, John Zeilinger, Louise Detwiler, Sue Waite, all of Three Springs, PA, and Scott Zeilinger of New Grenada, PA.
Mr. Fleck is also survived by grandchildren Jason Fleck and wife Dana, Heather Brown and husband Brandon, Tyson Myers and wife Tara, Kara Senft and husband Brett, Lindsey Benner and husband Christopher, Bryant Wible and wife Brianna and great grandchildren Chloe Brown, Tyce Senft, Lenna Senft, Greta Myers, Margot Myers, Aubree Benner, Gatlen Wible and Bowen Wible and sisters Virginia Fleck, Wanda Lane and Nancy McMahon.
Siblings Betty Marzano, Naomi Phalen, Darla Jane Bennett, Robert Fleck, Vaughn Fleck, C. Dale Fleck, Donald Fleck and Joseph Lee Fleck, son-in-law, Brian Wible and great-grandson, Evan Dallas Fleck preceded in death.
Earlier in life, he attended woodcutting school for 8 years and then later went on to graduate from Saltillo High School - Class of 1946.
Mr. Fleck was a member of the former Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Three Springs, PA and later attended Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, Three Springs, PA.
During his lifetime, he served on the Three Springs Cemetery Board, served as Cromwell Township Supervisor for 20 years, served over 100 different customers spreading loads of lime in his dump truck and drove school bus #14 for as many as 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, especially bear, as he took several hunting trips to Canada, Maine and Colorado. He always enjoyed family gatherings and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had an interest in rock collecting, noting the year and where each rock came from. He would later pass these on to various family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Faith Anderson and Pastor Joey Fleck officiating. Interment will be at Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 - 8:00 PM Friday evening and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 22168 Grissinger Rd., Three Springs, PA 17264.
