Joseph H. Tyson, 81, Fort Littleton, PA went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 14, 2020 at Long Term Care, Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born In Pottstown, PA on December 18, 1938, the son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Tyson) Tyson. He is survived by his wife Judith who survives at home and the following stepchildren: Randy Curry, Williamsport, PA; Laurie Miller and husband Russ, Mohnton, PA; Sharon Schofield and husband Jeff, Hershey, PA; and Rebecca Curry, Shoemakersville, PA.
There are eight grandchildren: Allison Keffer, Reading, PA; Ben Miller Reading; Matt Miller and wife Corrine, Blandon, PA; Jake Miller, Washington; Aaron Curry and fiance Meredith, Reading; Sarah Schofield, Megan Schofield, and Rebecca Schofield, all of Hershey.
He was preceded in death by his son Bryan Tyson and daughter Lynn Keffer.
Mr. Tyson was a graduate of Spring Ford High School and Stevens Trade School, Lancaster, PA.
He worked many years at Baker Equipment, Limerick, PA and also worked as a Deputy Game Warden in Chester County.
Mr. Tyson was a member of Mt. Zion F and AM Lodge #774, McConnellsburg, PA and was a life member of the NRA.
An avid outdoorsmen, he excelled at hunting and fishing. He had a love for man’s best furry friends and was never seen without one of them with him.
He attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church, McConnellsburg and was a faithful supporter of many outreach organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2020 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Alann Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Dublin Mills Community Church Cemetery, 2700 Dublin Mills Road, Hustontown, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday.
