John Eugene Rourke, Sr.

John Eugene Rourke, Sr., 74, Cromwell Church Road, Hustontown, PA died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Chambersburg Hospital. 

Born June 28, 1945 at Broad Top City, PA, he was the son of the late John James and

 Betty LeMay (Reihart) Rourke.  He was married to Jessie R. Hasting. Mrs. Rourke survives at home.

Mr. Rourke is survived by a son, John E. Rourke, Jr. and wife Linda, Stephens City, VA.

There are three grandsons: John William Rourke, Ryan Eugene Rourke and Austin Lee Rourke. In addition, there are six great grandchildren: Athena Mae Rourke, Georgia Epstein, Mariah Epstein, Nyamelee Epstein, Joseph Epstein and Bryson McCartney.

Mr. Rourke is survived by four sisters and two brothers; Shirley Jones, Dudley, PA; Karen Guthridge, Lewistown, PA;James Carl Rourke, Doylesburg, PA; Patricia Adams, Shippensburg, PA; David Rourke, Knobsville, PA and Mary Lisa Smith, Mapleton, PA.

He had worked for Vintage Lumber Co., Hancock, MD.

Mr. Rourke served in the US Army and the National Guard.  

He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.  He was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Chambersburg, PA.
