Jean LaVerne Cline, 90, formerly of Fulton County, and a resident of the Shook Home, Chambersburg, PA, died Monday morning, July 20, 2020.
Born October 18, 1929, in Taylor Township, Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Ada Maye (Knepper) Berkstresser.
Jean is survived by four children; Roy H. Cline, Jr. and wife Carol, Harrisonville, PA; D. Michael Cline and wife Cathy, McConnellsburg, PA; Carolyn M. Peterson and husband Dan, Rockwood, PA; and Jacqueline K. Perdas, Shippensburg, PA.
Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren so loved by their “Gram” also survive.
There are two brothers and a sister surviving: Clifford Berkstresser and wife Julie, Harrisonville; Neil L. Berkstresser, Harrisonville; and Nina Joan Geesaman and husband Kenneth, Shippensburg, PA.
Deceased family members include three brothers, Ronald Berkstresser, Archie Berkstresser, and Ralph E. Berkstresser, Jr. and one sister, LaRue Shaw. Also preceding her in death is a son-in-law, Frank M. Perdas.
Jean was an active member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA.
Jean was a homemaker whose interests included flower gardening, sewing, and farming. She was an avid reader and writer, loved being in nature, and more than anything else, loved her God and family.
Jean was employed by Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg, PA, and her last employment was at Knouse Foods, Chambersburg, PA.
A memorial service will be planned at a later time at the family’s convenience.
Arrangements are by the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, PA.
