Janet Fraker Obituary

Janet Mae Fraker, 86, Fort Littleton, PA went to be with Jesus on Saturday morning, September 28, 2019 at Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care, McConnellsburg, PA.  

Born July 1, 1933 at Maddensville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Orris M. and Ida Ruth (Cramer) Brown.  She was married to Cecil F. Fraker on October 16, 1950 at Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Fraker preceded in death on August 9, 1987.

Mrs. Fraker is survived by three daughters: Julie Beth Fraker Knepper, wife of the late R. Lynn Knepper, Fort Littleton; Cherry Dawn Fraker Hale and husband Mark, Fort Littleton; and Karen Jean Fraker Grissinger and husband Steve, Maddensville, PA.

Twelve grandchildren survive: Mary Beth Knepper Black, Jill Suzanne Knepper Kalyankar, Jody Lynn Knepper Newman, Julie Ann Knepper Hoffman, Robert Alan Knepper, Pamela Dawn Hale Strait, Matthew Fraker Hale, Katherine Renee Hale Hollibaugh, Lindsey Rae Hale Clatterbuck, Lucas Hunter Hale, Terri Lee Grissinger Rader, and Tammy Lynn Grissinger Martin. 

Also there are 27 great grandchildren.  Two great grandchildren are deceased.

Two brothers and two sisters survive: Viola “Sis” Pollock, Chambersburg, PA, Nelson Brown, Burnt Cabins, Russell Brown and Wilda Mills, both of Chambersburg.

Two brothers Leo Brown and Richard Brown and six sisters Inez Barnett, Geraldine Horne, Freda Ellis, Dorothy Brown, Maxine Brown and Audrey Brown preceded in death.

Mrs. Fraker was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband Cecil in their family business--Fraker’s Grocery and Meats, Fort Littleton.  Later in life she served as a volunteer at the Fulton County Library and served on the Literacy Council. She regularly visited friends, neighbors, and the residents of the Fulton County Medical Center Long Term Care Unit.

Prior to her illness, she attended the Burnt Cabins Bible Church.

As a family, we realize mom touched many lives and was loved by many.  Our family greatly appreciates all those who have touched her life and the many stories that have been shared.  Thanks to each and everyone, but our family desires to have a private service to honor her life and memory.

Interment will be alongside her husband at Fort Littleton Cemetery.
