James D. Runk, Sr., 83, of South Madden Road, Hustontown, PA, died Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home.
Born on September 25, 1938 in Taylor Township, Fulton County, PA, he was the son of the late Denver S. and Mary (Brown) Runk. He was united in marriage to Betty Fleming in April of 1962. Mrs. Runk survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Runk is survived by children James D. Runk, Jr., McConnellsburg, PA, Robin C. Runk, Colorado and Jack D. Runk and wife Valerie, St. Thomas, PA, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Siblings Elaine Cornelius, Reading, PA, Bonnie David, Harrisburg, PA and Reed Runk, Chambersburg, PA also survive.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Runk retired from the Tuscarora School District, where he had been a teacher for 31 years. He also spent 20 years coaching the Yankees in the Fulton County Little League.
During his lifetime, he enjoyed baseball, hunting and football.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA.
