Gloria J. Black, 83, of Doran Road, Three Springs, PA, died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Born May 22, 1941 at Wells Tannery, PA, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Justina (Weiser) Ramsey. She was united in marriage to Harper Black, Jr. on September 21, 1960. Mr. Black preceded in death on June 22, 1988.
She is survived by three children, Carmella Hockenberry of Three Springs, Maynard Black and companion Jen Doyle of Three Springs and Todd Black and wife Mary Beth of Waterfall, PA, eight grandchildren, Chelsea Hockenberry and companion Thane Fix, Brandon Hockenberry, Kodi Gartland and wife Sara, Ty Black, Caitlin Black, Trent Black and wife Cheyenne, Riley Black and Lane Ulsh, five great grandchildren, Casen, Carson, Ryker, Brayden and Baby Boy Black, due in September of 2024. She is also survived by three siblings, Edgar Ramsey and wife Margaret of Mercersburg, PA, Inez Chess and husband David of New Stanton, PA and Billy Ramsey of Harrisonville, PA and one sister in law, Jane Ramsey of Harrisonville, PA. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Weldon Ramsey, Morris Ramsey, Calvin Ramsey, Terry Ramsey and Joseph Ramsey and Bonnie Ramsey, who both died in infancy and one great grandson, Bryce Ulsh.
During her life she was a homemaker, helped on the family farm and was employed as a waitress at Bill’s Place and other area restaurants as well.
She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, word search, games, visiting with family and being outside sitting on her porch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA. Interment will be made at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Waterfall, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McConnellsburg Senior Center, 100 Woodside Drive, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or to the Hustontown Senior Center, 387 Cole Road, Hustontown, PA 17229.
