Glen C. Emerick

Glen C. Emerick, 93, of Hustontown, PA, died Friday, January 9, 2026 at Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA. 

Born August 19, 1932 at Warren, OH, he was a son of the late George and Helen (Fowlow) Emerick. He was united in marriage to the former Geraldine Grove for 56 years. Mrs. Emerick preceded in death on October 15, 2020. 

He is survived by five children, Rich Shade and wife Marie, Ron Shade and wife Anna Mary, Donna Summers and husband Bob, Glen “Chuck” Emerick, Jr. and Sharon Emerick. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Camille Whitsel, Tiffany Mellott, Bethany Gregg, Emily Emerick, Matthew Emerick, Karley Vitale, Grace Miller and Austin Hill and nine great grandchildren, Ava Viener, Emma Viener, Fletcher Kupperschmidt, Lexie Gregg, Moriah Jayne Vitale, Micaiah Jude Vitale, Miloh Jax Vitale, Apollo Jay Emerick and Artemis May Emerick and two brothers, Jack Emerick and George Emerick. 

Mr. Emerick was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Army for 22 years until his retirement from the service. He had attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and during his service he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Award. 

Following his service to our country he was employed at the former Gayman Chevrolet and later Jennings Chevrolet, Chambersburg, PA for 30 years. He retired from the former BWH Stamping, Fort Littleton, PA as general manager. 

Over the years he enjoyed raising beef cattle and later show sheep and had served as a judge at many fairs and wool festivals in Maryland and New Jersey. 

He also enjoyed intarsia woodworking, selling his items at the annual Fall Fulton Folk Festival. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Mr. Emerick’s brother, Rev. Jack Emerick officiating. Interment will be made at Clear Ridge Cemetery, Hustontown, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
