Franklin T. “Bud” Benson

Franklin T. “Bud” Benson, 93, of Waterfall, PA, died Sunday, April 26, 2026 at his residence.

Born on March 31, 1933 in Three Springs, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Rhoda (Rupert) Benson.  He was united in marriage to Dora A. Houck on June 2, 1953.  Mrs. Benson survives at home.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Benson is survived by daughters Joyce Golley and companion Jerry Davis, North Carolina, Kathryn Bliss and husband Dennis, Rose, NY, Nancy Stauffer and companion Steve Fink, Clear Ridge, PA and Tracey Frazer, Wolcott, NY.  A number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by children Judy Benson, William Benson, Franklin “Chuckie” Benson, Jr. and Carol Decker and siblings Edgar Benson, Maxine Neville, Donald Benson, Mildred Lowery, Dorothy Fix and Laverne Whitsel.

Mr. Benson was of Protestant faith.

During his lifetime, Mr. he was employed as a brake man on the Pennsylvania Railroad and after some time left to become a logger with his best friend.  He raised his daughters in New York and moved back to Pennsylvania after they graduated from high school.  After that, he worked a few local factory jobs then on to road construction, JLG Industries (now Oshkosh) and then to Kee-Ta Quay Construction.  After he retired, he worked odd jobs and tended to buffalo at a local farm.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was much beloved by anyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Immanuel Bible Church, 22054 Starr Road, Three Springs, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave, Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814.
