Faye E. Brant, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Fulton County Medical Center - Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, PA, where she completed her life's journey battling the final stages of Alzheimer's Disease.
Formerly of Little Egypt Road, Harrisonville, PA, she was a dairy farmer's wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and enjoyed her family. She took great pride in her sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, and shared many of her projects and treats with her family and friends.
Born July 7, 1933 in the Hustontown area, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Cecil (Abbott) Fetters. She was one of eight children. She was a graduate of Hustontown High School, Class of 1952.
On June 27, 1954 in a small church ceremony, she married Dean L. Brant of Harrisonville, PA. They started their journey together as dairy farmers where she worked with her husband, children and grandchildren until her declining health. They were able to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary this year.
Faye also worked at Stanley Co. before the children arrived and in later years at Huston Sportswear in Hustontown, PA.
She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, PA, where she taught the adult women's Sunday School class for many years and helped with festivals and other events at the Community Building.
She is survived by her husband Dean, also a resident of FCMC LTC, who had been with his beloved wife comforting her with his presence the past 3 years. The last years she found it difficult to communicate with family and friends as the disease robbed her of this ability.
Three children survive, Connie Duvall and husband Jeffrey, Mercersburg, PA, Curtis Brant and wife Donna, Harrisonville, PA and Jill Umstead and husband Daniel of Butler, PA.
Seven grandchildren, Nick Duvall and wife Vicki, Laurie LaFollette and husband Kenny, Carrie Gingerich and husband Dustin, Kellie Gress and husband Ted, Evan Brant and wife Emily, Tyler Umstead and wife Nicole and Erica Umstead and thirteen great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Katelyn, Christina and Allison LaFollette, Hannah, Abby, Lydia and Leah Gingerich, Calan Gress, Easton, Emmett and Ezra Brant and Nadine Umstead also survive.
