Faye L. Appleby

On November 3, 2023, Faye Louise Daniels Appleby, formerly of Waterfall, PA, passed peacefully from this life to join her Lord. She was a resident of Menno Haven Assisted Living for several years. Following her graduation from Hustontown High School she was employed at Penn Hall Girls School in Chambersburg, PA. Manor Building where she resided at Menno Haven was previously Penn Hall Girls School.

She was born March 25, 1929 to Ira Russell Daniels and Edna (Reeder) Daniels. Her father passed away and her mother remarried Eugene Leedy. 

She married J. Elwood Appleby on December 31, 1949 at Hagerstown, MD. She was a dedicated Christian and homemaker for her husband of 45 years and her children, Jack and Nancy Appleby Horne. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Jack E. Appleby and wife Judy of Waterfall, PA, four grandsons, Philip R. Horne and wife Brandi of Shippensburg, PA, Patrick E. Horne and wife Jaime of Orbisonia, PA, Jonathan M. Appleby of Chambersburg, PA and Joshua D. Appleby and wife Rachel of York, PA and twelve great grandchildren, Shian, Ginny and Parker Appleby, Brayden, Asher and Lainey Horne, and Paxton, Quinn, Reagan, Sullivan, Truman, and Upton Horne and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Russell Daniels in 1934, her mother, Edna (Reeder) Daniels Leedy, her husband, J. Elwood Appleby, her stepfather, Eugene Leedy, her daughter, Nancy E. Appleby Horne, her son in law, Ronald E. Horne, a sister, Betty J. Doyle and a brother, Eugene H. Daniels.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA with Chaplain Brenda Doyle officiating. Interment will be made at Center Cemetery, Waterfall, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
