Edna M. (Swope) McDaid

Edna M. McDaid, 93, of Hustontown, PA, died Saturday, June 5, 2021 at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.

Born on March 30, 1928 in Sipes Mill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Iola (Mellott) Swope.  She was united in marriage to Robert S. McDaid on October 6, 1948.  Mr. McDaid preceded in death on March 21, 1991.

She is survived by children Roger McDaid, Donald McDaid, Phyllis Carol Mathews and David McDaid.  Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren survive.

Eight siblings preceded in death.

Mrs. McDaid was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

During her lifetime, she was a cook at the local diner.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Fairview United Methodist Church, 2246 North Hess Road, Harrisonville, PA with Pastor Becky Cutchall and Rev. William Swope officiating.  Interment will be made at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, adjacent to the church.  Friends may call at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA on Wednesday from 6 - 8 PM and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
