Chalmer M. Mellott, 75, North Clear Ridge Road, Hustontown, PA died Monday evening, February 17, 2020 at his home in Dublin Township, Fulton County.
Born May 25, 1944 at McConnellsburg, PA, he was the son of the late John F. and Louella (Hann) Mellott. He was married to Patsy Wilson on October 12, 1985. Mrs. Mellott survives at home.
Mr. Mellott is survived by five daughters: Angela Shaffer and husband Bryan, North Carolina; Dana Henry and husband Mike, McConnellsburg; Trudy Gelvin and husband Randy and Rhonda Black and companion Delmar Ulsh, both of Hustontown; and Sherri Fleck, Huntingdon, PA. A former son in law Thomas Fleck resides at Hustontown.
There are seven grandchildren: Dylan Gelvin, Tristan Gelvin, Trent Black, Caitlin Black, Riley Black, Zach Fleck and Michael Fleck. Also surviving are three great grandchildren: Carson Barnett, Koleston Gelvin and Laynie Gelvin.
Two brothers Preston Mellott and Stanley Mellott, both of McConnellsburg, and a sister Dolly Keith, Chambersburg, PA also survive.
Three brothers Jim Mellott, Frank Mellott and Lee Mellott and two sisters Goldie Henry and Esta Pittman are deceased.
Mr. Mellott attended the New Grenada Church of God, Waterfall, PA.
After 31 years of service with Mack Truck, Hagerstown, MD, he retired in 2004. He also was a union member.
Mr. Mellott operated his local butcher shop for 21 years. He was well-known throughout the community for his wonderful deer bologna and sausage.
He enjoyed hunting, visiting, and attending the Friday evening Christian music programs at Willow Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Kenneth Cornelius officiating. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon until 2:00 PM on Saturday.
